RESPONSIBLE SOURCING

Conflict-Free Policy

Aurum Bullion PLC maintains a zero-tolerance position towards conflict gold and supports legitimate, transparent and responsible practices throughout the gold supply chain.

Responsible sourcing

Aurum's previously published policy states that gold coins are purchased through reputable suppliers expected to uphold high standards of responsible sourcing. Where a supplier were found to be acting in material breach of those standards, Aurum's stated policy is to end that relationship.

Conflict-affected and high-risk areas

We recognise the risk of serious adverse impacts associated with extracting, trading, handling and exporting minerals from conflict-affected and high-risk areas. Aurum is committed to respecting human rights, avoiding contribution to conflict and supporting risk-aware sourcing practices from extraction through to the end user.

Aurum will not knowingly tolerate, profit from, assist or facilitate serious abuses connected with mineral extraction, transport or trade, nor knowingly contribute to the financing of conflict. We support compliance with relevant sanctions and applicable domestic law.

Artisanal and small-scale mining

Gold contributes significantly to economies and livelihoods across many gold-producing countries, including through artisanal and small-scale mining, a sector that can also present significant environmental and social risks. Aurum believes that responsible engagement, formalisation, appropriate licensing, transparency and better routes to market can help legitimate mining communities build more sustainable and commercially viable operations.

Aurum's developing approach is to engage with legitimate operators and encourage progressively higher standards of environmental protection, worker safety, responsible chemical use, traceability and labour practices. Particular attention is given to risks associated with child labour, unsafe working conditions, mercury and other hazardous substances, and gold whose origin or ownership cannot be satisfactorily established.

Aurum also recognises that responsible sourcing should create opportunities as well as safeguards. Where appropriate, the Company may explore how access to equipment, financing, expertise and stronger commercial structures can support legitimate operators in moving towards more formal, transparent and sustainable production, while enabling local communities to retain a fairer share of the economic value generated by their gold.

Ongoing commitment

Responsible sourcing is an ongoing process. Aurum supports measures that uphold legitimacy in the gold trade and will continue to review relationships, sourcing practices and relevant standards as the business develops.

This policy reflects Aurum Bullion PLC's previously published Conflict Free Policy together with the company's current Responsible Gold programme. It should be reviewed as Aurum's sourcing activities and supplier relationships develop.
